Resources for Small Businesses

Resources for Your Small Business

The majority of these resources I have personally used with my small business and with great results. Others come highly recommended by other small business owners. Odds are you have heard of most if not all of them. While there are many resources available to small business owners these can help anyone looking for some recommendations.

Disclosure: Please note that some of the links above are affiliate links, and at no additional cost to you, I might earn a small commission if you decide to make a purchase. I only recommend them because they are helpful and useful, not because of the commissions I might make if you decide to buy something. Please do not spend any money on these products unless you feel you need them or that they will help you achieve your goals.

Invoicing / Accounting / Bookkeeping

RECOMMENDED PICK —–>>      FRESHBOOKS

I have personally used both Quickbooks & Freshbooks. Both are great options for your small business.

I currently use Quickbooks Online for my coaching business as I find it easy to copy and send invoices to regular paying clients.

I also have quite a few service-based business owners I work with that use Freshbooks and they love the ease of creating estimates then invoices for their clients.

Freshbooks also has some great reports for your business and with my passion for you learning your numbers, you should check out this page on the report available alone!

You can’t go wrong either way. You will get much better results using either of these vs a notepad, spreadsheet, or even worse, a shoebox.   🙂

Payroll, Benefits, and HR

RECOMMENDED PICK —–>>      GUSTO

If you think you will have employees, I highly recommend using a payroll company. While you can do it yourself, why have the extra stress of collecting workers comp, paying taxes, doing W4s, etc.

When I started my first business, I was so thankful that I outsourced payroll. It was the best investment I ever made.

Gusto makes payroll easy but also has plans that can help with benefits and other Human Resource issues.

Payroll via Quickbooks – One of the leading payroll options for local small business owners.  There are other options such as ADP Payroll as well as many large banks. I personally used Wells Fargo Payroll with great success.

I have websites with GoDaddy, Flywheel & Bluehost.

RECOMMENDED PICK —–>>      LEGALZOOM

LegalZoom is an excellent resource for all things legal. When I created my first LLC I needed it done quickly and used Legal Zoom. I was extremely happy with their service. However, LegalZoom actually can cover other business needs as well. So if you have business legal needs or even personal legal needs check out LegalZoom.
